It reads your own mock history: your percentile trend, your accuracy in each subject, and the gap between what you attempted and what you got right. From that it shows the rank your trend points to. It's a projection from your data, not a guarantee, and it says so wherever it appears.

NEET, yes, properly. It has its own chapter syllabus, its own subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and its own rank data, and switching between JEE and NEET in Settings never touches the other's records. BITSAT, not yet: the syllabus everything is built on isn't set up for it, and we'd rather say so plainly than hand you a JEE tracker with a new label.

No. Every record is tied to your account ID and guarded by a row-level security policy inside Postgres, so a request for anyone else's data comes back empty. Not trimmed: empty. The database enforces this, not app code that a bug could slip past. The one exception is a review you choose to publish, which shows on this page under the display name you pick.

Nowhere. They're saved in your browser's own private storage on your device and read back from there; the file itself never reaches our servers. One honest catch: iOS can evict that storage when the phone runs low on space, so a book may occasionally need re-adding. Your highlights, verdicts and practice progress live in your account, so they survive that.

When you ask Mentor (the AI Coach) for a note, a summary of your study and performance data, such as recurring mistake patterns and performance signals, goes to Google's Gemini API to write it, and the note is saved in your account so you can re-read it. Your password is never sent, we don't sell your data and we don't train models on it. Once a request reaches Google, how they process it is governed by their terms rather than ours, and we won't pretend otherwise. Don't use Mentor and nothing is sent at all.

Settings → Delete account, then type DELETE to confirm. It runs there and then: no email ticket, no cooling-off period. Your logs, sessions, mocks, uploads and stored files are removed. Three things deliberately stay, and it's fairer to name them. A review you published stays in Reviews, but your name is swapped for a generic label (it shows here as “Logged-off Legend”, with a pixel robot instead of a photo). The shared exam syllabus was never yours to delete. And the community aggregates hold no user ID at all, so nothing in them points back to you.

Through daily aggregates that carry no user IDs and no individual records. A figure is shown only once at least three people qualify for it, so no comparison can be narrowed down to one person, and the aggregates are deleted automatically after roughly 45 days. You add to a number, never to a leaderboard with names on it.

Yes, or with an email and password if you'd rather not link accounts. Both run through Supabase Auth, and the email forms sit behind a Cloudflare Turnstile check, so automated sign-ups are kept out.

No. ARETE is independent: not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the National Testing Agency, the IITs, or any examination authority or coaching institute. Rank projections and percentile comparisons are worked out from your own logged data against public reference figures, and they have no official standing.
